Trouble Shooting
Trouble with your car doesn't
always mean major repairs. Here are some common
causes of trouble and techniques to help you and
your technician find and fix
problems |

- Alternator
- Your
alternator may appear defective due to loose wiring.
Have a technician check for loose connections before
replacing the alternator
|
- Battery
- Corroded
or loose battery terminals can result in the battery
appear dead or defective. Clean the terminals and test
the battery function before replacing it
|
- Starter
- A dead
battery or poor connection can be mis-diagnosed as a
defective starter. check all connections and test the
battery before repairing the starter
|
- Muffler
- a loud
rumbling noise under your means a new muffler or
exhaust pipe is probably needed
|
- Tuneup
- The
old-fashioned "tuneup" may not be relevant to your
car. New cars have fewer parts, other than belts,
spark plugs, hoses and filters, that need to be
replaced. Check your owner's manual
